2021 might seem like it’s a bit late & out of fashion now to jump on the Blogging bandwagon so late. Right?
Well, I’ve been searching for a meaningful way to share my life experiences with you guys to help you Improve the way You Think, Make more Money, and finally Live a Meaningful life. In that specific order. Having negative/limiting beliefs about yourself means you’ll find it really difficult to be better at the rest of the two things. So naturally, that’s the one thing that I tend to focus on A LOT.
But the problem is transferring my learning in an effective way to you isn’t as easy as it might sound. Even though I’ve had some success myself, it’s a different thing altogether to share those experiences in an engaging and educating way so you can benefit the most out of them.
Why is it so Important for me to Share?
Let me be honest, it’s not like I’m an extremely accomplished and generous person whose whole purpose of life is to impart wisdom in others. There has to be something in it for me too to be motivated & to give it my 100% not just a single time but over and over again. So what do I get? Let me begin by sharing with you the two types of people in this world.
One, who share what they do with the world and make it a better place by inspiring others.
And Two, who live in the shadows all their lives – no matter how successful they are, their success dies with them.
Now, as I feel like I’ve accomplished most of the goals I had set for myself as a child now and achieved more than I ever imagined, I’ve been on the hunt for the next meaningful thing to add to the list of my Future Goals. And one thing that really tempts me and makes me excited is to log & share what I learned on my journey. Because I would want to be remembered for making a positive impact on the world when I’m gone.
And when I see how I’ve (unintentionally) inspired others around me: To question the norm and to really open their minds to the world of possibilities around them and to dream bigger for themselves. I can’t help but Wonder what I can accomplish if I do that intentionally and in a much more organized way. Once I set this as my next goal, it became such a curious & challenging puzzle for me to figure out what’s the best way of accomplishing that!
Now, my journey is one to figure out which stories from my experiences are worth sharing, how can I tell those stories in the best possible way to make the most impact! Which leads me to:
In my search for the best way to share this information, I experimented with Instagram, a little bit of YouTube and guess what I found out? My brain isn’t tuned into the idea generation mode to begin with. I’m not a content creator but a content consumer at the moment. And after trying so much stuff, and failing at it again and again, I couldn’t help but feel that I might be missing something obvious. So I went back to the drawing board and figure out instead of trying to make it work with what’s HOT these days. Why not start with something small and simple. And even writing a post on this blog after such a long time isn’t easy to do. It feels so overwhelming but that’s the whole idea! Isn’t it
My Challenges with YouTube
So I tested out the waters with YouTube first. It was such a LONG process to follow which before getting started felt something like this:
Step 1: Sit in front of the camera
Step 2: Record!
Step 3: Publish
But it turned out to be such a loopity loop sort of thing. Well, my biggest takeaway was that working on a YouTube Video, half of the work is done before you even sit in front of the camera, let alone the feeling of being frozen in time when you hit Record, that sounds like an experience to share for a different day! So I ended up putting a pin in the YouTube plan for a while.
Instagram Picture Perfection
Then I started thinking that I should start with something much simpler like Instagram for example. Before I do ALL of the above for YouTube while I don’t even have a proper system to generate ideas and share them with you. So, I started publishing my thoughts but guess what. I hit another Major roadblock again! I like my Instagram feed to be really aesthetically curated. So I had to make sure that each time I post something, it satisfies the critic inside me. And that single hurdle made it so difficult. And the idea to capture the Perfect picture that summarises the content just did it for me! Talk about overwhelming!
So I ended up giving up on the whole idea of sharing my thoughts until now thinking that I’ll come back to it. But I knew all that while that there was something important missing!
That leaves us with the final option, the one I’m trying out now! And I don’t think there’s anything simpler than this that puts the content first before anything else!
To really achieve my Goal to be a great storyteller through my videos on Youtube, I have to make sure I make it a Habit to tune my mind towards being a Content Creator instead of a Content Consumer. And since a blog is anchored around Ideas and Ideas alone, what else could be a better way to develop that Habit. Without the overwhelm of such a long todo list for YouTube or getting stuck in the trap of Perfectionism of having a Picture-Perfect Instagram Feed instead of focusing on the content.
The Master Plan
So, here’s the overall tone and the general idea behind the upcoming blog posts!
I will publish 1 blog post every week on Saturday at 5PM sharp! I might make it 2 posts per week but I intend to keep it simple in the beginning to get the mental gears started towards generating ideas. And why I’m sharing all of this stuff with you? Because I believe the best way to tell a story is to make you a part of the journey. Instead of telling you what it is like, why not SHOW you by taking you along for a ride?
I’ll be sharing all my struggles and the traps I fall into along the way so we can all learn together and improve ourselves as a Tribe. And since it’s something really new for me, it’s going to be so much fun learning & sharing how to overcome my personal demons. What mind tricks I use and which lessons from my past help me make this as simple, easy and effortless as possible. It’s going to be a bumpy ride so if you’re ready, make sure to subscribe to the newsletter to get notified every week when I have a new story to share from this fun journey!
And if you have a specific question you want me to write a blog post about, Get in Touch with me and I’ll see if I can structure a future blog post around that!
❤️ Fun Fact: Just because I’m a geek, I measured my heart rate while writing this post and it’s at a whopping 103!! Talk about overwhelming! Heck, I even feel silly as I’m writing this but that’s part of the fun! See you guys in the next one!
